Daily learning tasks for Tuesday

Spellings:

Continue to practice adding prefixes to root words. Use slide 7 for ideas of words containing prefixes. Remember, don’t do them all at once! No more than ten at one time (Spellings _Rule 18 prefixes).

Read for pleasure: Spend 10-15 minutes (or more if you want) reading something for pleasure. It could be a story, poem, play, information text, comic, graphic novel or online text/kindle/e-reader. You could also read to a younger or older sibling.

English: Reading

Pupils practice their skills following on from their learning yesterday by completing the questions

Year 5: R4f. Can empathise with a character's motives and behaviours

Year 6:  R5a: Can search for simple clues within the text to support ‘reading between the lines’

Maths:

Daily 10

Pupils have also been using daily 10 in class to improve this recall of multiplication and division facts. They all know how this works. Click on the link below to access the website.

RE: What is Diwali?

Click on the link below to take you to the BBC bitesize page to learn about the Hindu festival of Diwali. Watch the video, read the text and the story of Rama and Sita. Summarise 5 things you have learned about Diwali in your exercise books.

Extra challenge: Can you retell the story of Rama and Sita? Be creative. You could retell the story to a sibling, act it out, perform it as a puppet show, create a story board, re-write the story in your own words… your choice!
