This year saw the 25th anniversary of National Poetry Day. To mark this occasion Oak Class joined the rest of the school to take part in poetry workshops kindly organised by the staff at West Acre Theatre.
We looked at two poems, 'Augustus & his Soup' and 'Tame Animals'. We discussed the meanings of the poems and choreographed actions, thought about intonation and expression and learnt how to speak as an ensemble.
After lunch, there was time for one more run through before performing the poems to the rest of the school.
Many thanks to all of the staff at West Acre Theatre for their hard work in making the day one to remember. We will look forward to similar events in the future.
